The Fall Skin Reset: 7 Prime Day Skincare Deals Worth It

Summer's over, and your skin knows it. Cooler air, indoor heat and a few too many products left over from beach season can leave skin feeling tight, dry and a little irritated.

My fall approach is simple: fewer harsh actives, more moisture, and SPF that doesn't take October off.

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days run through 11:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, October 7, so I went through the beauty sales and kept only what earns a spot in a cooler-weather routine. Six of the seven are under $25.

Prices were checked on October 6 and can change during the sale, so confirm before you buy.

1. Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Body Cream: $14 (reg. $23)

A cult favorite for good reason. It's thick and rich, made for the driest spots: elbows, hands, heels and shins. A little goes a long way, so this tube lasts.

2. Aquaphor Healing Ointment: $14.89 (reg. $19.99)

The do-everything staple I keep in every bag once the weather turns. Use it on chapped lips, dry cuticles, rough patches and windburned cheeks.

3. Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask: $12.99 (reg. $19) FOUR Pack

The overnight hydrogel mask everyone's been talking about. Put it on before bed and wake up to skin that looks plumper and more hydrated. It's an easy weekend ritual for under $13.

4. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer: $17.49 (reg. $24.99)

If you buy one thing from this list, make it this. It's a simple, fragrance-free daily moisturizer with ceramides and niacinamide, the kind of no-drama, barrier-friendly formula fall skin wants. It layers well over a retinal, too.

5. Medik8 Crystal Retinal: $49 (reg. $66)

Fall is a popular time to start or restart a retinoid, once the long sunny days are behind us. Retinal (retinaldehyde) is a close cousin of retinol, and Medik8's Crystal Retinal comes in numbered strengths.

My tip: if you're new to it, start with the lowest strength, use it a few nights a week, and build up slowly. Always pair it with daily SPF.

6. Laneige Lip Glowy Balm: $13.20 (reg. $22)

A glossy, cushiony balm for dry fall lips that's pretty enough to wear on its own.

7. Medicube No Cast Just Glow Collagen Sunscreen: $13 (reg. $21.90)

Your reminder that sunscreen is a year-round habit. This one's lightweight and easy to wear every day, and at $13 there's no excuse to skip it.

The fall reset, in three steps

  1. Morning: moisturizer (#4), then sunscreen (#7).

  2. Evening: retinal (#5) a few nights a week, then moisturizer (#4).

  3. As needed: Aquaphor (#2) for lips and dry spots, Skin Food (#1) for body, and the overnight mask (#3) once a week.

That's it. Fewer steps, better choices.

For a life well lived.
